Happy Holidays from St.Johns Academy

Dear Friends, Families, Colleagues, and Supporters of St. John’s Academy,

I wish you all the merriest of Christmas seasons!

Believe it or not, next year SJA celebrates 30 years of success.  We also rightly pray for many more years of blessings! This Christmas I invite you to reflect with me,  where have we been and where are we going as an academy?  Many of us know firsthand how God loves to surprise us, perhaps demonstrated nowhere better than in His humble birth.  He subverts our expectations, and accomplishes things much greater than we can imagine.

As a Christian Academy, SJA is not only interested in producing smart, skilled, and enriched students, but also ones that have a developed sense of truth.  For us the supreme and ultimate truth is not mere ideas or words (as important as those two things are!), but something personal and found only in our relationship with Jesus Christ.  We cry out during this season, “Christ is born, glorify Him!”

I am so thankful to God for a successful first semester.  It was wonderful to see students bravely compete with intelligence and sportsmanship during Field Day and House competitions.  SJA staff have been endlessly creative and cooperative, helping put on a dynamic Open House and meeting the needs of individual families.  And our families have been so supportive of me as I transition into a new school and town.  Glory to God!

Pray, hope, and believe with me that we as an Orthodox Christian school community take up the best parts of our 29 year history thus far and reach SF, the Bay Area, and even beyond, as we seek to Glorify our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ through education.

Sincerely,

Nima Duncan

Principal of SJA
