On Friday, December 6th, 14 St. John’s students participated in the SJA Oral Spelling Bee. These 14 students were the qualifiers from the written exam covering a 50-word spelling bee list from Scripps National Spelling Bee List. The contestants competed in the SJA Oral Spelling Bee, spelling the words from their grade level lists, as well as the lists in the grades above them. The three finalists from the Spelling Bee were Anastasia Paramonov (4th grade) in first place, Emily Granina (3rd grade) in second place, and Anton Moroz (8th grade) in third place. Congratulations to all our contestants and finalists!

As this was also a fundraiser for the school, the pledged amount of money was more than $2,600. All of these proceeds will go to replacing and maintaining the technology we currently use at the Academy.
