Virtue of the Week; Kindness

We will only be in school for three days this week, since we take Thursday and Friday off to celebrate the National Day of Thanksgiving. Nevertheless, three days is not too few in which to exercise this week's featured virtue: kindness.    St. Paul was so adamant about the power of kindness that he even included it among the nine most spiritually powerful Christian virtues. "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law." (Galatians 5;22-23).

On Wednesday, 21 November, we will hold our last staff lunch of the trimester.  This will be our last chance to discuss ideas for the upcoming "Celebration of Our Mother" event which will take place on Sunday, 2 December, 2012 after the Divine Liturgy. (By the way, this Wednesday is a normal school day - not a half day).

Please be aware that this is the last week of the second trimester, and that grades are promptly due by Wednesday, 28 November, after we return from our little break.

May your week be full of kindness, and may we all be thankful for any and all kindness that has been shown to us, whether we recognized or not!

Warmly,

Seraphim Winslow
