Dear parents and families of St. John’s,

Greetings in the midst of summer! All of us at the St. John of San Francisco Orthodox Academy pray that the summer is proving refreshing, relaxing and renewing for your family, and that your children are enjoying their school break to its fullest.

Here at the Academy, plans are well underway for what promises to be another exciting and encouraging year ahead. Books are being ordered, classrooms prepared, schedules drawn up—all in anticipation of your children’s return at the end of summer.

The year ahead will bring many treats: a school-wide focus on our local Orthodox history as we celebrate the 200th anniversary of Fort Ross and the missionary work within our region; some exciting little changes to our daily routine, to allow for a more integrated approach to tying our daily religious themes in with the whole school day; some new faces on campus—both student and staff; as well as a creative new beginning to the school year: ‘Week One’, with four days of activities, orientation, community building and a start to the Academy’s life together for 2011-2012. More information on these and other school-wide happenings to follow in due course.

For the time being, please enjoy these summer weeks and months with your children. May the Lord bless your families!

INXC,
Hieromonk Irenei
Principal
