Thank you from Raphael House

The following letter, addressed to St. John of SF Orthodox Academy, was recently received:

I would like to thank you for your participation in the 2008 Raphael House Adopt-a-Family program. A record number of 278 families and 793 children were adopted for Christmas, and your participation was instrumental in making this possible. We at Raphael House are incredibly grateful for your support. The work of Raphael House staff is a labor of love, but we realize that our efforts would not be possible without the gracious support of individuals such as yourself and our community.

The families were incredibly excited to receive their gifts. Some parents picked up their gifts without their children so that they could maintain the precious belief in Santa. One mother said to me: “Thank you to everyone who made this possible. You all helped Santa come to our house this year.” Those children who did accompany their parents were grinning from ear to ear as they received their gifts.

I hope that you enjoyed being a part of the Adopt-a-Family program and I look forward to seeing you at future Raphael House events.

Again, thank you for your generosity and Happy New Year!

Sincerely,

Anna Hurtado
