Dear St. John’s students,
It’s hard to believe that we are only three weeks away from the beginning of our new 2010-2011 school year at St. John’s. I hope and pray that each one of you has had—and is continuing to have—a joyful summer, filled with blessings and joy and relaxation (and perhaps even a little of your summer reading for your classes!). I look forward very much to seeing you all back in school next month and hearing about your summer activities, as well as welcoming our new students.
The year ahead is going to be very exciting. We have a number of wonderful new teachers joining us at the Academy this year, as well as new families and new students. You have probably already heard that our meal program is all new this year, with wonderful new lunches and snacks being provided for you. We will also have a new art and music program, as well as an IT and Computing class for the first time in our history as a school. New projects are being planned, including a student-run section of our web site, integrating IT, art, English, photography another classes and subjects, as well as new outings and activities.
I look forward to our joyful new year together at St. John’s. Between now and the start of classes, I wish you a very blessed celebration of the feasts of the Church to come—including Transfiguration and the Dormition of the Theotokos—as well as a very joyful final few weeks of summer holidays and adventures.
I will see you all, and your families, on Sunday the 29th of August, for a family orientation and retreat day.
May the Lord bless you!
INXC, Hieromonk Irenei
