Nino Sharabidze, a 1st grade student at St. John’s, won medals in three events at the 2009 LA Lights International Rhythmic Gymnastics Tournament last weekend. Competing in the Level 4 Child’s section, she tied for 12th place in the Floor competition, earned 2nd place in the Hoop competition, and tied for 3rd place in the All Around category.

Hosted by the Los Angeles School of Gymnastics, the LA Lights tournament attracted some 1500 attendees from many countries, including China, Germany, Mexico, New Zealand, Russia, and Ukraine. It is the largest event for rhythmic gymasts in the USA.

Nino’s hard work and hours of training resulted in a wonderful performance that combined athletics and art. Well done, Nino!
