Reminder: New Tuition & Fees Procedures for 2011-2012

Dear parents and families of St. John's Academy: As announced during the past school year at parent meetings, from the new 2011-2012 school year the Academy will be using the SmartTuition system to collect tuition and fees on a monthly basis as a combined single payment covering all regular payments (inclusive of tuition/fees, lunch, and family contribution). This will both facilitate easy payment on your end as families, as well as on the Academy's end in terms of bookkeeping, processing, etc.

As ever, SmartTuition will process your payments on the 20th day of the month preceding instruction; this means that the first payment of 2011-12 for returning families will be due and processed by SmartTuition on 20th August 2011, in time for the September start of school (families of newly-enrolled students will pay on a different timeline, dependant on the date of enrolment; please refer to materials you have received from the Academy with your child's acceptance). Payments will continue to be processed automatically by SmartTuition on the 20th of each month throughout the school year, on our usual 10-month cycle. The break-down of what this means, in terms of the actual amount to be debited each month depending on your child's/children's grade level, can be found on the Tuition & Fees page of the school web site. Further information on SmartTuition and monthly payment processing can be found in Section 2.1 of the School Handbook: Tuition Fees & Payment Policies.

Please note the following important details: As ever, book fees are due promptly on the 1st of August by 4.00 p.m., in the amount(s) specific to your child/children's grade level(s) (as can be found detailed here). This amount must be received in the school office by either cash or check no later than this date (though you can pay this fee earlier if more convenient to you). This book fee, as well as your registration fee, will be credited to your overall year's balance as indicated on the Tuition & Fees page, which means that the actual amount you pay each month by SmartTuition will be less than the amount indicated on that page. The total year cost, less books and registration fees, will be distributed evenly over your ten payment months, beginning with your August 20th first payment.
