We are happy to announce to students, families and friends that a gallery of some 77 photographs from our school's feast day of St. John the Wonderworker is now on-line via the Academy's web site.

St. John's Academy keeps its patronal feast day each year on the 12th October celebration of St. John of Shanghai and San Francisco. Each year the celebration is marked by a Divine Liturgy celebrated in the Cathedral of the Holy Virgin, 'Joy of All Who Sorrow', before the relics of St. John, at which our students serve as the choir and receive Holy Communion. The Liturgy is followed by a moleben before the relics and a word from our hierarchs; and then the remainder of the day is spent in Golden Gate Park, enjoying the company of fellow students and teachers in joyful celebration of our heavenly patron.

This year we were blessed to have both hierarchs of the Diocese of Western America -- His Eminence Archbishop Kyrill of San Francisco and Western America, the diocesan bishop, together with His Grace Bishop Theodosy of Seattle, his vicar -- present at the Divine Liturgy and moleben.

The afternoon in the park proved the great spirit of camaraderie of our students and staff, with everything from tree climbing to football to Scrabble, and even an impromptu birthday celebration for one of our teachers.

As a school dedicated to the fullness of Orthodox education and life, it is a privilege each year to celebrate the heavenly intercession of our patron, St. John. May he grant us many more years of service and growth!
