The Great and Illustrious House of Jerusalem has, once again, triumphed on the field of battle. Our fourth annual Ascension Day Field Day competition was a great success. Last Thursday, in a lovely grove of Golden Gate Park, on a gorgeous (though somewhat windy) late Spring day, three great houses - Alexandria, Constantinople and Jerusalem - struggled and strove to take the day.  All were were graceful players and good sports, but in the end it was the House of the City of the King which triumphed overall.  After grueling combat in events like the 200-yard dash, the hula hoop run, the balloon toss, the sack race and (everyone's favorite) "crazy bats", the winning house pulled ahead of the rest in stunning victory in the final tug-o-war and soccer games. Hats off to all competitors, who indeed let their "light shine" on the playing field, and congratulations to the winning house!
