On June 4th, the students in grades 6-12 performed Shakespeare’s Cymbeline
to an appreciative audience of parents, teachers, and students. Using a
creative mixture of recorded and live music to supplement the student
actors, Director Seraphim Winslow produced a humorous and lively play
that kept the crowd cheering throughout the evening. Cymbeline,
the “Chinese dragon of Shakespeare’s canon,” is notoriously difficult
to stage due to its large number of characters and settings, but the
St. John’s players gave a wonderful show that showcased a number of
talented performers and benefitted from the particpation of all the
students.
