*Orthodox Seminar:
This course is an inquiry
into an Orthodox perspective on the individual, society, and the universe.
Starting with Orthodox principles, we examine ancient and modern realms of
thought and creativity, exploring and analyzing them dialectically with the aim
of developing an authentic Orthodox outlook. The course can be distinguished
from a Religion class in that it is not presenting information about a subject
as much as subjecting various areas of knowledge to an Orthodox critique. The
purpose is both to strengthen students’ Orthodox commitment and to deepen their
ability to think clearly about the world in which they live.
