Dear Parents:
Christ is Risen!

Tomorrow will be the last day of the 40 day celebration of Pascha; the last time this year that we will be greeting each other with the joyous words of "Christ is Risen". I hope that this holiday time for you was both a time of joy and spiritual edification. This Thursday, we will witness how the Savior, after appearing to His apostles, will ascend back to the Heavens, as they stand watching. He will do this with both His human body and divine nature eternally united, to "sit at the right hand of the Father". What an incredible joy for us to have a human being sit on the throne of God and thus be able to act as our advocate before God!

Because the Ascension of Our Lord is of such great importance to us, all Orthodox Christians need to attend the services marking this day. While many of you work and cannot take the time off to attend the liturgy on Thursday, there is no justification for not coming and praying during the vigil tomorrow evening. The starting time for the services are 6:00 o'clock Wednesday evening and 7:30 in the morning on Thursday. After the liturgy, the students will be competing in the park for our annual field day. Students should come to church in uniform and bring the appropriate clothing with them to change into after liturgy.

I look forward to sharing with you this celebration and greet you in advance with this wonderful holiday.

In Christ,
Archpriest Serge Kotar, Chaplain
