Has the tuition for 2011-2012 increased over previous years?

The Board of Directors of St. John's Academy has approved a modest 5% increase in the overall comprehensive cost of tuition and fees  for the forthcoming 2011-12 school year. Prior to the approval of this small increase for next year, St. John's Academy had not increased its tuition rates in nearly four years. The Board of Directors has approved the current change to help cover the costs of the Academy in line with inflation.

St. John's is committed to keeping its educational provision as affordable as possible, and this modest 5% rise will continue to keep the Academy one of the most affordable private schools in the Bay Area. To put the 5% increase in concrete terms, the cost of enrolling a child in our Kindergarten program (the lowest on our tuition scale) for 2011-12 has increased by only $36.20 per month; while the cost of enrolling a child in our 11th/12th grade programs (the highest on our tuition scale) for 2011-12 has increased by $43.20 per month.

We trust that all our parents and families will recognize the need to ensure the school's ongoing future through the regular assessment of our tuition and fees schedule, and will see that the proposed increases represent manageable adjustments to the fees currently paid in the 2010-2011 academic year.
